Celebrating the Next Generation of Fire & Security Talent

We’re thrilled to share that the finalists for the WorldSkills UK 2025 Fire & Security competition have been announced!

The WorldSkills UK competition challenges the very best apprentices to demonstrate their technical expertise, precision, and problem-solving skills on a national stage. The competition not only highlights the future stars of our industry but also plays a key role in raising overall standards and showcasing the opportunities that careers in fire & security can offer.

National Qualifiers

This year’s journey began with the national qualifiers, which took place in April at The Security Event at Birmingham NEC, one of the industry’s most important exhibitions. Over three days, entrants were put through their paces in a series of hands-on technical challenges designed to test everything from wiring and installation to compliance with industry standards. All of which was scored and judged by representatives from the NSI and SSAIB.

The NEC qualifier was an intense, high-pressure environment that gave competitors the chance to demonstrate their capabilities in front of judges, employers, educators, and industry leaders. The atmosphere was electric, and the talent on display was nothing short of outstanding.

The Road to Cardiff

Following their strong performance at the NEC, eight exceptional finalists have now earned a coveted place in the WorldSkills UK National Finals 2025. These finals represent the pinnacle of competition in the skills sector and are a true celebration of vocational excellence.

The finals will be held at Trinity Saint David, Waterfront Campus, Swansea – with the award ceremony being taking place at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Newport.

We’re incredibly proud to be the organising partners of the Fire & Security competition once again this year – a role that aligns perfectly with our mission to close the industry skills gap and empower the next generation of professionals.
