Course Overview

Certified at SCQF Level 6 and RQF Level 3, this FireQual Fundamentals course provides a nationally recognised qualification in the requirements for fire detection and fire alarm systems for non-domestic buildings. It is developed in alignment with BS 5839-1:2025 and the BAFE SP203-1 competence scheme, and is suitable for professionals involved in the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of fire detection and alarm systems.

The qualification is regulated by both Ofqual (England, Wales & Northern Ireland) and SQA Accreditation (Scotland), with Skills for Security approved and regulated under both awarding bodies for the delivery of this course.

Final Assessment

Delegates will complete a proctored multiple-choice exam on Day 5 to achieve the FireQual Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Fire Detection and Fire Alarm Systems in Non-Domestic Buildings. This formal assessment confirms competency across the full system lifecycle, in line with the latest British Standard.

Extended Learning

All learners receive 12 months of access to our Skills On-Demand learning platform. Additional online modules must be completed during the course week, with optional continued access for ongoing professional development. Renewal fees may apply after the first year.
